Acne - Dry Skin Acne/Dry skin is often times the most frustrating skintype. Using too much of acne products can “over-dry” the skin, making it peel, feel more sensitive, and be generally uncomfortable. If you are Acne/Dry, start all acne products slowly. For example, use acne gels every other night the first week or two, and then increase the frequency – if your skin can tolerate it. Usually dry skin requires far less strength and frequent use of medicated products. Further, avoid drying/stripping cleansers that exfoliate too much as this can make your skin become drier. It is a balancing act to keep this skintype hydrated AND clear up the skin. You can do this by using hydrating gels (Control Corrective Skincare’s Hydrant Stabilizer for example), and stick to oil free products in general.
